Job Details:

a cloud-led managed service provider is looking for a junior to mid-level SQL DBA. They work as a collaborative technology partner to businesses making a digital transformation having both an established private cloud product and a growing public cloud offering.

Our CoE team is a group of engineers with particular product specialisms that act as an escalation point for our service desk, but who also play a key role in the technical aspects of designing, testing, operating and improving the services we provide.

As a DBA, you will need to help to maintain customer business critical systems across various scales with that you will be a part of the out of hours on-call rota and may need to do the occasional out of hours overtime.

The core focus for the role is that you be assisting in with the design, operation and maintenance of a data tier for a broad range of systems. You will be working with an expanding range of database technologies across private and public cloud to also provide Microsoft SQL Server expertise, incident and request resolution and troubleshoot customer SQL Server systems.

To be considering for the DBA role you will need have knowledge of SQL internals, performance turning, monitoring and TSQL. We require for the Data Platform engineer to be Hands on as you will be troubleshooting and resolving SQL performance problems for large scale systems (multi-TB databases and hundreds of databases).

It would be great if you have experience with Windows Failover Clustering, familiarity with Microsoft Azure as a Platform, Azure SQL DB, Azure Blob Storage, Data Lake and Data Factory. Also, we would consider someone with experience on VMware, PowerShell or other script languages.
