Technical Business Analyst

Infrastructure | £450 - 500 per day | Cardiff, Wales

Technical Analyst ( Security , Infrastructure , Application) required for a leading consultancy based in Cardiff on a 6 month contract. You’ll be working on a variety of technical components capturing and documenting. You’ll be working with a range of subject matter experts and 3 rd party stakeholders as well as implementation teams to help address them. You must have good e xperience of analysing complex systems covering a range of technologies and products

Key responsibilities include:

      For existing and prospective systems, identify and engage with technical stakeholders to capture and document:

 

Application components, including software modules, interfaces / integration, UI components and associated interactions, roles / permissioning. Software licensing requirements would also need to be understood

Data and information components, including a system’s logical and physical data model, data profiling / classification and jurisdiction, data movements, data mapping and transformations, any purging and/or archiving elements and BI/MI/reporting elements

Infrastructure components, including hosting locations, compute resource specifications (for live as well as other environments), networking appliances, certificates, storage and backup as well as application server requirements

Security components, including physical and technical security measures, identity and access management

Non-functional characteristics, e.g. availability and capacity

Operational elements, e.g. SLAs, underpinning OLAs, monitoring components and support structures

    Identification of any deficiencies in the above areas and establishing appropriate options with recommendations on how to remediate. May include identification of “quick wins” as well as longer term considerations
    Presenting the above in a recognised format to both technical and managerial stakeholders. Would require both verbal and written communication

Essential:

      Can-do, pragmatic, hands-on and innovative style of working

Experience of analysing complex systems covering a range of technologies and products

Ability to work with and ensure a quality output from SMEs, including those from 3 rd parties

Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written, including ability to articulate solutions to a senior as well as a detailed/technical audience

Daily rate – £450 – £500

Contract length – 6 months
