Job description

A Data Engineer is required to join one of the world's most innovative, independent, online publishers on a permanent basis.

They have a reach of over five million professionals worldwide, which is done through trusted product reviews, virtual events, webinars, eBooks, blogs and more.

Your role as a Data Engineer will be to support the transformation of the company's current technology stack. Your will optimize the data created and collected, develop data algorithms and infrastructures that make the data easier to analyze, and support the company's transition from existing legacy systems to new cloud architecture.

For the Data Engineer, a basic salary on offer is between £50,000 - £70,000, plus bonus and benefits.

This position is based in Bristol and would require 1-2 days per week in the office.

The Data Engineer role:

  • Transform and clean datasets
  • Quality check a variety of datasets to ensure utmost accuracy
  • Manage and optimise databases and ETL pipelines
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
  • Maintain key mapping data for use across many reports/tools
  • Work with partners to optimise performance and troubleshoot issues

BI Data Engineer Essentials:

  • Substantial experience as a Data Engineer.
  • Previous experience in designing, coding and migrating legacy databases to modern reporting architecture in the cloud.
  • Hands-on data engineering skills in Data Lakes, Data Marts, Azure and MS SQL data tooling.
  • Strong knowledge of Python, API's, and Airflow.
  • Good understanding of ETL Processes.
  • Demonstrable experience with legacy tools including MS SQL stack and Excel
