Job description

BI Developer / Data Engineer - Data Factory / PowerBI / T-SQL

A Data Engineer is required to join a fast growing, financial services company on a permanent basis.

They manage over £3bn in assets on behalf of their clients including pension funds, insurance companies, endowments, and banks around the world. They are a company of 70+ professionals with offices in London and New York. You'll be joining the IT department and be responsible for performing regular data ingestion, data analysis and reporting.

For the Data Engineer, a basic salary on offer is between £55,000 - £65,000, plus bonus and benefits.

This position is based in Central London and would require 3 days per week in the office.

The Data Engineer role:

  • Performing data analysis and extending current reporting structure into PowerBI.
  • Developing and modernising current ETL processes to ingest data into business' Data Lake and Data Warehouse
  • Transitioning manual activities to robust automated processes.
  • Liaising directly with users to determine requirements, diagnose and resolve data related issues, and perform ad-hoc reporting.

BI Data Engineer Essentials:

  • SQL Server / Azure SQL Database
  • Strong coding skills in SQL
  • ETL experience: SSIS / Data Factory
  • PowerBI & DAX
  • Experience with the full Software Development Life Cycle
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills
  • Agile, determined, passionate and driven
  • (Experience in the finance industry would also be beneficial but not essential)
