Job description
The ideal candidate would be an efficient problem solver and an independent self-starter, capable of working pro-actively and taking individual responsibility, ability to command respect and create a sense of community amongst colleagues, as well as excellent communication and presentation skills both verbally and in writing.
Responsibilities:
- Planning and designing the programme
- Effective co-ordination and management of inter-dependencies, including oversight of any risks and issues arising
- Defining governance arrangements
- Ensuring effective quality assurance including that of product and service delivery
- Budget management
- Facilitating talent acquisition
- Managing third party contributions, communication with stakeholders and risks to the programme's successful outcome
- Reporting progress to the project sponsor and key stakeholders
- Working with the Head of IT Change for BAU transition.
Essential Skills Required:
- 10 years experience in a Data Centre consultancy environment
- Experience of managing a Datacentre migration and of Colocation Service Providers
- Background in Infrastructure projects and management of technical resources and providers
- Experience delivering mission-critical projects as either a consultant or client-side project management
- Good understanding of the procurement process including negotiation with third parties
- Good understanding of programme planning, monitoring, and controlling techniques
- Experience with programme and project management methods including MSP, PRINCE2 and Agile
- Excellent customer service, communication and client/external interface skills
Desirable Skills:
- Experience of delivering Disaster Recovery as a Service (DRaaS) solutions
- Experience of delivering Backup as a Service (BaaS) solutions
- Experience of Cloud Services and delivery models
