Application Support Specialist ( SQL Server / DBA / MS BI )

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Application Support Specialist to join a leading Charity in Central London and work in a dynamic, fast paced working environment on an initial 6 months contract.

You will be responsible for the efficient operation of the company application landscape, ensuring a secure, stable and scalable ‘fit for future’ environment. The key areas of responsibility at an operational level can be described as:

– Database (Security, Installation, Configuration and Administration)

– Application/Data Backup/Recovery

– Application Support

You will be a product specialist of one or more of the key areas:

– MS SQL Server

– SQL Toolsets

– Other DB technologies

– High Availability solutions

– IIS

– MS BI Stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS)

The successful Application Support Specialist will be a highly motivated, proactive self-starter and will be used to working in a small team, whilst supporting a large organisation.

Essential skills and experience:

  • MCDBA – Microsoft Certified Database Administrator
  • MCP – Microsoft Certified Professional
  • Degree in Business Information Systems or Equivalent
  • ITIL
  • Release and deployment
  • Application support
  • Database administration
  • Application Systems
  • Database Software
  • Database Modelling and Design Tools
  • Ability to communicate across Business and Technology boundaries
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to change
